It is not a battery hog. Anyhow.this radio has performed flawlessly.
This was the perfect price point of top quality. I looked around at cheaper shower radios and also looked at the high-end offerings.
Choose to listen to an early AM talk show or get traffic or just anything to get your brain going. I've owned this radio for over a year and it is just such a part of my daily routine that I would really miss it if it were gone.
Set your favorite stations on one band and set another person's favorites on another. I can't think of reception issues and it is plenty loud and easy to read.
I'm very satisfied.
My husband HAS to have some form of media entertainment while in the shower. Works perfectly, batteries last a good long while. I don't know if he had a bad experience in the shower as a child or what, but apparently there needs to be noise of some sort. This fit the bill perfectly, that is, until roughly a month ago. However, you won't get TV on it anymore thanks to the switch to digital. My husband is NOT a happy camper.
Got this for my girlfriend and she loves it. She's had it for a little over a year now, and it is working great. I recommend this product to anyone looking for a good quality shower radio. She keeps it outside the shower to help keep any water from ruining it.
The most important criteria to me are: Tuner capability-- The Sony by far surpasses all previous radios in this regard. Now that I've grown accustomed to it, I don't think I ever want go back to changing stations in the shower with the old knob & dial radios, especially with weak signals.Digital display--- In the shower without glasses, reading the dial on previous radios was not easy. After 3 months experience, I am far happier with this radio than any of the previous ones. I've used shower radios on a daily basis for many years in several locations as we've moved around the country. This could be somewhat inconvenient if you hang the radio from the showerhead. I can understand what is coming out of the speaker without having to have the radio within 2 feet of my ear. There are several other features that I have grown to love:Push button tuning-- I have 3 or 4 favorites and with the buttons it is much easier to switch between them.
and I have much less problem with location of the unit.Sound Quality--Again the Sony is far superior to any of my previous radios.
We currently live in mountainous country, a good distance from a metro center, so signal strength is not the best.
Things to consider Size/weight---The radio is large for a shower radio and is not lite.
Over this period, I have had several different models and and quality levels of the radios.
The Sony's display is large enough to see clearly, and gives you both the time and station.Push buttons for on and off and band--- quite convenient, not having to turn the volume knob to turn on or off makes start up a "one touch" operation.
To pull in most stations, previous radios had to have fully charged batteries, and be positioned in exactly the right place.
My selection of stations is much improved, both AM and FM.
Not a problem in my case since I have a shelf on which to place it, But I'd be concerned with trying to support it via suction cups.Location of the buttons-- They are all on top.
Its easy to use. It works and it is one of the only shower radios out there these days. The stations come in quite well and we keep ours IN the shower with us. I'd recommend it to anyone for a great shower radio. It was a wonderful wedding present - one of our favorites for sure.
